Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro international airport, meet and greet with our representative and transfer to Lake Duluti Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park.

Pick up from Lake Duluti Lodge by our professional guide and drive to Tarangire National Park. Being the sixth largest national park in Tanzania, Tarangire remains slightly off the main safari circuit but is a terrifically scenic park featuring classic African savannah, green hills, woodlands and rivers and is especially famous for its large herds of elephants, superb birdlife and giant baobab trees. On arrive at the park, proceed to Lemala Mpingo Ridge Lodge for lunch, after lunch depart for an afternoon game drives, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Crater.

After leisurely breakfast, proceed with morning game drives Go on morning and afternoon game drives in the park with packed lunches, afternoon drive to Ngorongoro crater for descending and overnight at Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp. The intimately delightful ancient acacia forest close to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. Game drives from camp may start as early as 6.15am and guests can be down among Ngorongoro’s abundant wildl2ife on the floor within 10-15 minutes – crucial for photographers who demand the best light conditions. Escorted walks are also available into the forest and along the crater rim with an armed ranger and Maasai guide.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy an early morning breakfast before a magnificent game drives. The Ngorongoro Crater, once a gigantic volcano, is the largest intact caldera in the world. Some maintain that before it erupted, it would have been higher than Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. Savour a Crater Floor Banquet with your butler to attend to your every wish as you indulge in a mouth-watering meal served against the backdrop of groups of zebra strolling along the Crater floor. Proceed with game drives, ancient caldera with the opportunity to see the Big 5, for the more active take the opportunity to do a walk on the Crater Rim, or a full day hike into Empakai Crater with an experience for sundowners on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park

Drive to Serengeti National Park with packed lunches, game drives en route, arrive at Lemala Ewanjan Tented Camp is an authentic intimate tented camp set in a secluded part of the game-rich Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti. The Seronera region is an important wildl2ife transition zone between the southern grasslands and the northern woodlands and is renowned for its year-round game viewing due to its abundance of water in the many rivers, as well as for its large populations of resident big cats. Additionally, between April and June, and again between November and January, this area is crossed by the annual wildebeest migration, which provides always thrilling wildl2ife drama.​ Sundowners at the open sky dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park.

Float above the Serengeti on a once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon flight. At dawn, rise as the sun greets the day and float in whichever direction the winds of the morning take you. Land to an beautiful bush breakfast, proceed with game drives in an opened safari vehicle. The game drives are carefully planned to anticipate the progress of the Great Migration, so you should not have to travel too far to see the vast herds. However, if the Migration has moved off, or the dramatic river crossings are in progress, you may choose to spend more time on the vehicle in order to maximize your chances of seeing this incredible phenomenon.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park – Southern Serengeti.

Depart for a full day game drives in the Southern Serengeti with packed lunches, the area is classic savannah, characterized by flat grassy plains, and you can always enjoy the migration between December and March. Tens of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle usually arrive in December to graze on the newly-watered, highly-nutritious short grass plains, and then by February, the main calving season takes place. Predators – especially the big cats – are highly concentrated in the area in these months. Arrive at Lemala Mara & Ndutu Tented Camps is in the Ndutu region of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area near the border of the Southern Serengeti. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Serengeti – Zanzibar

Depart by road to the Airstrip, where you will board your scheduled flight to Zanzibar Airport.

On arrival in Zanzibar you will be met by our representative and transferred to The Palms, Zanzibar.

Day 11: Departure

Pick up by our representative and transfer to the Zanzibar airport for the international flight.
